There are more than 2,400 museums in Canada including art galleries, community museums, historic sites, science centres, botanical gardens, multi-disciplinary and specialized museums.
Most are governed by boards of directors that are usually composed of dedicated volunteers from the community.
If you are interested in guiding and implementing the museum’s mission, assist in managing the museum’s business, forwarding our progress, and securing community
support, you would be a great fit on the Board of Directors.
If you would like to work with the collection, documenting their history, adding information to the computerized collection system, scan photographs, take photographs, we have volunteer opportunities for you.
Have an idea for the website? Enjoy creating Facebook content? Like to assist with events? You might enjoy assisting with publicity, helping to get the word out about
the museum’s activities.
Like working with the public? Be a tour guide. Like working with books? Our research library and clipping files need organization to be used effectively. . .
We have a lot of ideas in mind and always have room for more.
